Horsefeathers - 'Hire More Felons' - Pinot Noir & Pais - CA - 2020

This wine is DOPE!
Pinot Noir grown fully organic in the Fillmore Vineyard... by the owner of the Fillmore Concert Hall. Go figure. The addition of 10% Pais as an experiment gives this wine an air all its own. Something so beautiful, so fun, and so chillable. A serious wine with a serious message... presented in a fun-as-hell style.

The message is clear: Get a little stoney-baloney, sip some wines, and get out there, hire more felons!

Notes from Sean: 

Mid-Harvest at my day job left me few options on this pick day and even more; Sonoma/Napa was fully on fire. The smoke loomed over and I had an amazing group of friends to cough their way through it with champagne. Way more under ripe than I ever would have picked, this Pinot Noir and 10% Mission is meant to be served cold as rose. 1 day on skins, pressed out and aged 12 months in barrel, 6 in stainless. She's wild and fierce. Organic fruit, native yeasts, best served cold.

Horsefeathers is a project by Sean. Sean is from Ventura, CA. Sean was imprisoned as an adult at 18 years old, spent a number of years in jail. Upon his release he discovered, of all things, the wine world - working with a number of awesome, natural Bay Area producers. Nowadays he's making Horsefeathers all his own, working his own vines wherever he can, and building a project to help rehabilitate other reformed felons.
