Lampyres - 'Luminescence' - Muscat, Macabeu - Côtes du Roussillon, FR - 2019

Lampyres Luminescence 2019 is a natural wine made from a blend of Muscat a Petit Grains, Muscat of Alexandria, and Macabeo grapes farmed organically in the Roussillon region of Southern France. --- Domaine Lampyres is a project led by Francois-Xavier Daure (FX), who for many years was Tom Lubbe's right hand at Matassa. FX is a dedicated vigneron who while working at Matassa was also tending his 8 hectares, working very early in the morning with a lamp on his head – hence the name "lampyres", French for firefly. Mentored by Tom Lubbe, FX started making a few white wines in 2017, then a few thousand bottles in 2018, and just this past year FX was able to go his own way.
