Coclicò, or ‘orange poppy’ in the local dialect is a skin contact white wine that evokes the hue of its namesake flower. After spontaneous fermentation and 12 days on the skins this wine is aged in traditional vessels for 9 months and then spends another 3 months in bottle. It opens with a complex and harmonious nose redolent of citrus, dried fruits and fennel along with poppy and acacia flowers. Intense and elegant with distinct minerality and lovely weight. Bottled unfiltered. --- For more than 30 years the Buganza family has been producing and bottling organically grown wines from the Langhe and Roero, in the heart of Piedmont. Grown with a craftsman’s care and passion in the Gerbole and Garbianotto hills, Radici e Filari’s vineyards are as old as 90 years in age. All are worked manually and organically with biodynamic principles playing an increasing role. Minimal intervention in the cellar with the use of the simplest ingredients: grapes, sun, water and earth result in wines that are allowed to express their truest selves. “Our dream is a world… where the seasons, marked by the sowing and harvest, make us feel in harmony with nature, the earth and with people.” – Emanuele Buganza
