Electric full fruit explosion.

Notes on the Producer

Bojador is a personal project that brings to life an old dream – transforming into wine my love for the Alentejo. The first steps were taken in 2010 and I chose Vidigueira to start. Here, in this unique place, with a millenary tradition of wine and vineyard dedication is where I make my wines. Wine wish I aim to carry the soul of the South-Alentejo. Produced from old vineyards, selected and monitored by myself. Mineral, fresh, elegant, emotional and authentic wines! Wines that have memory and tell the story of this land which I now call mine.
At Bojador we make a selection of each vineyard block that better expresses the Vidigueira terroir.
The main idea is to obtain grapes who can show the minerality and freshness of the region. Our complete production is now under Organic mode and very low intervention winemaking style. We always use field blends, co-fermented with indigenous yeasts.
My main concern is to provide the extreme terroir experience in the glass of wine.
The Vinhos of Talha (amphora) have had a bigger leading role on this project, although representing only 10% of the total production.
This is a very export driven project, which is now starting to get a wider expression in the domestic market.

Grapes & Style

Touriga Nacional

Touriga Nacional is one of Portugal’s great red grapes and a key variety for both Port and dry red wines. It’s especially important in the Douro and Dão, where it brings color, perfume, structure, and a distinctive floral depth.

In the vineyard, Touriga Nacional often gives small berries, thick skins, and naturally concentrated wines. It can be low-yielding, but that concentration is part of why it has become such an important quality grape in Portugal and beyond.

In the glass, Touriga Nacional often shows blackberry, blueberry, plum, violet, bergamot, spice, and dark mineral notes. The best examples are powerful but aromatic, with firm tannins and a polished, floral lift that keeps them from feeling merely heavy.
