Further records indicate that wine from this estate was sent to the renaissance man’s Florence residence in 1551. The estate remained in the hands of the Buonarroti family until 1863. Fast forward to 1926, following some ups and downs, the Bucciarelli family of sharecroppers settled on the property, tending to its vines, olive groves, and cultivating cereals. With the agrarian reform, the Bucciarelli family finally purchased the estate in 1982, and since 1986 has been bottling Chianti Classico according to their own vision: 100% Sangiovese, limited production, certified organic, spontaneous fermentation and aging in cement and cask.\u003cbr\u003eAn aura of mystery surrounds these wines: we found them deeply transporting and utterly transfixing.
