Pure juice - this is how we like an afternoon in the autumn to feel: like a warm sun on the skin but a cool, electric breeze flowing through.
Think orange essence on a palate of silky, juicy plums and other purpley orchard fruits.

All from a 55 year old vineayrd in La Chapelle de Guinchay once owned by Domaine Jules Chauvet - godfather of modern natural Beaujolais.

on the name:
When he started his winery, he was told that use of his ethnic first name on labels would limit his sales and as a result, he initially labelled his wines simply as ‘K. Vionnet.’ As time passed, Karim embraced his North African roots and not only began including his full name on his wines but also named his Beaujolais Village “Du Beur Dans Les Pinards” which loosely translates into “Arab in your wine” derived from the French expression “du beurre dans les épinards“- something you say when you have extra money that will allow you to “add a bit of butter in your spinach.”.

Karim Vionnet is a rising star of Beaujolais. Karim was a baker before he decided to follow his passion and become a winemaker. He worked under Guy Breton (famous “gang of four” member with Lapierre, Folliard and Thevenet) for 5 years before establishing his own domain in 2006 in Villie-Morgon, also his birthplace. From his 5ha domain, Karim’s aim is to “make a wine that is simple and natural”. Unnecessary intervention and artifices, both in the vineyard and during fermentation, are avoided, emphasising high quality and terroir driven wines.
