Cold fog and wind infiltrate this vineyard and help to lengthen the growing season, allowing the fruit more time on the vine to develop complexity of flavor. The vineyard is farmed organically.\nThis Gamay underwent a native fermentation with 100% whole clusters included. After 11 days on the skins and stems, the wine was racked to neutral oak barrels and completed a native malolactic fermentation. After 7 months in neutral oak, the wine was bottled with minimal sulfur and without fining or filtration.\nThis Gamay is all earth, herbs, and red fruit. The cool climate of Santa Maria combined with 100% whole cluster fermentation encourages the fresh herbal quality of green and black tea, pink and white peppercorns, and baking spice. Below the spice and earth, you'll find bright red cherry and pomegranate, with a core of acidity and well-balanced tannins holding it all together.\nOnly 75 cases produced.\n---\nOutward Wines is a partnership between Natalie Siddique and Ryan Pace.\nWe are focused on producing small-lot, site-specific wines from California’s Central Coast, primarily sourcing fruit from Santa Barbara County. All of the vineyards that we work with are farmed using sustainable, organic, or biodynamic practices and are located in close proximity to the cold Pacific Ocean.\nIn the cellar we strive to minimize inputs throughout the winemaking process in order to allow for a clear picture of what the site can provide naturally, and to give the wine a true sense of time and place. To that end, we utilize spontaneous yeast to carry out fermentations, and bottle without fining or filtration where possible. \nWhile we do our best to allow the wines to speak for themselves, we also recognize the role and impact of the human element in terroir. Our hands and our decisions are reflected in the wines that we produce, so it is not only an expression of site, but it is _our_ expression of site.\nOur winemaking approach is informed by the places we have travelled, the background and experience we have in the wine industry, the wines we have enjoyed and been inspired by, the food we prepare and consume, and the friends and mentors that we consult. All winemaking dogma aside, at the end of the day our goal for these wines is for them to be delicious and to provide pleasure to the end consumer.  \nOutward is about expression, exploration, adventure, and the unknown. We consistently seek to push ourselves out of our comfort zones whether through adventurous pursuits in the outdoors, working with new vineyards, or simply challenging our own philosophy and approach to winemaking. Outward is our ever-evolving winemaking adventure and we hope you will join us for the ride. \n","brand":"Satellite","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":39927797186756,"sku":"00072326","price":51.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0403\/3655\/6193\/products\/4695A6A5-F9A6-4A75-B6C2-AAB67F5795EC.jpg?v=1623456939","url":"https:\/\/satellitesb.com\/products\/outward-wines-presquile-vineyard-gamay-santa-maria-valley-ca-2020","provider":"Satellite SB","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
