It’s herbaceous on the nose with anise notes. The palate offers black pepper, fresh raspberry and dried cherry.\nABV: 12.8% \nProduced \u0026amp; Bottled by Swick Wines, Newberg, Oregon\n---\nA note on the vineyard from Lily Jacob Cellars: \n\"Sonrisa Vineyard is a 10 acre site in Rattlesnake Hills AVA (Yakima Valley) Washington State. It’s a special place to grow wine grapes, residing atop 1200 feet of elevation and enjoys incredible diurnal ranges of up to 50 degrees or more during the growing season. Grown at Sonrisa is Malbec (.5 acre) Tempranillo (3 acres), Graciano (1 acre), Grenache (1.7 acres), Touriga Nacional (.5 acre), Verdelho (1.3 acres). \nOur growing philosophy stems from the old world, we crop low for the highest quality, let the land drive the varietals and at all costs, keep the chemicals out of the vineyard. This means managing our weeds organically, pushing the boundaries of conventional wisdom when it comes to pest and pathogen preventative measures while investing in technology or manual labor to compensate. In the end, we’ll take the risks, rely on the plants and only intervene if our long term vision or the health of the plants are in jeopardy. \"\n---\nA native of Oregon, Joe returned to his home state in 2013 after a decade of working harvests and making wine across the globe. Joe’s ethos is rooted in showcasing the unique cold climate terroirs of the Pacific Northwest using a hands off approach. Swick partners exclusively with organic and biodynamic growers to develop wines that he himself would like to drink -- fresh, lively acidity, with no conventional additives, only adding modest amounts of SO2 on select wines when absolutely necessary. Swick Wines integrate themselves into a movement looking to rewrite the history of West Coast winemaking. Joe uses a number of minimal intervention techniques from experimentation in skin-contact to field blends to Pét-Nats. Swick works with historically farmed regional varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chenin Blanc and Grenache and experiments with non-native grapes such as Verdelho, Melon de Bourgogne and Touriga Nacional. What ends up in the glass are energetic, vins de soif with a freshness and balanced acidity that reflect their artist, terroir, and space in time -- each year bringing new wines and a new approach. You never know what surprises you might find with Swick.\n \n","brand":"Satellite","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":40230396461252,"sku":"00072412","price":33.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0403\/3655\/6193\/products\/APC_2218-hdr.jpg?v=1627516267","url":"https:\/\/satellitesb.com\/products\/swick-cinq-a-six-malbec-sonrisa-vineyard-rattlesake-hills-ava-wa-2020","provider":"Satellite SB","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
