WSET 1: Foundations In Wine - Sunday, August 25th, 2019 - 10am-5pm

Register now for the introductory course! Space is limited to 22 students!

This 6 hour intensive course is a full introduction to the world of wine. As an entry-level course, it teaches the basics of wine in a friendly format specifically designed for those with little to no previous wine knowledge and for those looking to learn the structured approach to wine tasting.

Ideal for enthusiasts or those new to the wine and service industries, the Foundation Course focuses on the main styles of wine, tasting technique, wine and food pairing, as well as wine service and etiquette.

The class consists of a 6 hour session that concludes with a short 30 question multiple-choice exam. Successful candidates receive the WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines.

Lunch is included and will be served mid-day from our Farmers Market Restaurant!

Our instructor is Lenka Davis! Lenka recently completed her Diploma in wine certification with the WSET and is the Wine Director of local food/wine mecca, Barbareño. Lenka hails from Slovakia and is a world traveller who is committed a lifetime of wine exploration. Lenka is a living compendium of wine knowledge, both local and international. She has taken the reigns of our Level 1 Introductory course from her mentor and instructor Monica Marin and maintains a 100% class passing rate in that course!

Monica Marin, our WSET Director, is currently a Master of Wine candidate and the head of Education at Wine House Los Angeles. Throughout her career, Monica has visited the world's best wine regions, falling in love with the culture, wine and gastronomy. Monica is a certified instructor for the WSET at the intermediate, advanced and Diploma levels in California, Mexico, Colombia and Chile. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and has a good knowledge of Italian and French. Monica’s classes are credited by both Satellite’s Drew Cuddy and instructor Lenka for the success and direction of their wine careers!

Class is scheduled for Sunday, August 25th 2019 from 10am-5pm.
