Vinified without sulfur nor compromise, the robe of this wine is deeply colored and shimmering. The texture is thick, velvety and reassuring. The nose is of dark berries. Think cassis and boysenberries where gentle spices add to the generous aromatic palate. Ripe tannins hold everything together in manner offering tension and elegance.

Extending over 18 hectares in the Côte Chalonnaise with vineyards located in both Rully and Mercurey, this is the largest organically farmed estate in the area, possessing a wealth of fine terroirs that savvy wine-lovers have kept to themselves for decades.
Mia Subotic, whose father had owned the property since the 1990s, officially took over in 2020, bringing a younger approach to winemaking overseen by superstar Burgundian winemaker David Duband and the vineyard culture directed by Alain Charleux. Absolutely dedicated to working in harmony with nature, they and their team have studied every detail and procedure with an eye to long-term sustainability beginning in the vineyards, that are certified organic since 2008 and farmed using Bio-dynamic procedures and tisanes (soon to be certified) and plowed with the help of their workhorse Baronne. Even the springtime pollination, essential for the year’s crop, is assured and overseen by honey bees housed in hives throughout the vineyards. The vines are fertilized only with compost produced at the property from manure and ground vine cuttings.
In the winery, minimal intervention is the standard with low levels of sulfur and only the most essential pumping entering into play, made possible by a three story winery located in Nuits St Georges, an archeological relic of the flourishing late 19th century wine explosion that followed the introduction of the railroad system in France. Even the packaging is entirely eco-conscious.
All grapes are hand-harvested. White grapes are pressed directly and barrel-fermented using indigenous yeasts. Duband’s team incorporates up to 50% whole clusters in the red cuvées, as this results in wines with silky tannins and more elegance leading to more harmony overall.
