Notes on the Producer
Languedoc, France Château Marco, located in a quiet corner of the Aude in the foothills of the Pyrenees, was founded in the late 1970s by Marc Leseny. Marc is a city boy that got caught up with the green revolution in France, moved to the countryside and started farming and raising livestock with a group of friends. They planted their first vines in 1983. The vineyards, perched at 350 meters above sea level, overlooking a verdant valley, enjoy a microclimate ideal for varietals such as mauzac blanc, chardonnay and chenin. Marc is making wines that very much tell the story of Limoux, an area celebrated for its mineral-rich, fresh and lively sparkling wines. Both the Blanquette and Crémant de Limoux are a deep expression of the terroir, embodying tradition and environmental stewardship. Each bottle reflects care, passion and a profound connection to the land.
