2023 Rancho Arroyo Grande Grenache Carinne is a fresh expression of organically grown grapes. Sourced from sprawling vines planted in 1996, the brightness of this fruit encouraged the creation of a spirited wine. This wine was made with 100% whole cluster inclusion and minimal intervention to preserve the original energy. I hope you find this wine brings red fruit, a little bit of spice that may show as pink peppercorn, and a liveliness that keeps you present with the wine while you enjoy. Behind the label art Immediately struck by the vibrant and animated work of Les Fols de Siléne, Renee felt the whimsical style would be perfect to bring Bougainvillea to life. For Renee, Bougainvillea brings joy and connects her to the places she finds dear. Siléne Audibert worked to create an image that personifies the playful spirit and cheerful color of this flower. Although Carinne is a family name that holds meaning, the figure isn't necessarily intended to be "Carinne" herself, rather a courageous female figure. Equal parts girl-power and a nod to her home.

Ever in the pursuit of holistic experience, Renee continues to shape her understanding of wine and its potential to convey ideas and place. The further connected she becomes to the farming of grapes and the care it takes to create a balanced vineyard system, the deeper meaning she finds in her work.
