Notes on the Producer
Gianluigi Lano is an understated, stoic man who works a small certified organic farmstead in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, Barbaresco. His wines are complex, classically styled, but always offer plenty of truffle/floral intrigue to compliment the instantly gratifying dark fruit. There is no modern technology in the cellar. The most impactful "technique" is that Gianluigi refuses to release wines until they're truly ready to drink. If that means the Barbera needs 4 years in barrel/bottle or the Barbararesco needs 5 or 6 -- so be it. Each wine leaves the cellar when it is ready, and no sooner.
