Notes from the Winery/Importer
The liquid presents a vibrant blood orange hue, with a luminous orange glow when mixed. The nose offers a complex bouquet of bright bitter citrus, grapefruit, rhubarb, and dark cherry, accented by subtle hints of vanilla, sage, and bitter melon. On the palate, the texture is a harmonious blend of bittersweetness and acidity, featuring layers of orange and grapefruit interwoven with herbal, spicy, and woody notes, along with hints of vanilla. The finish sets it apart from similar products, making it versatile for cocktails and spritzes while maintaining enough balance, natural purity, and refinement to be enjoyed neat.
The base is a natural 100% Viura wine, sourced from ancient, pre-phylloxera vines grown in high-altitude vineyards in the Basque region of Rioja, Spain (Rioja Alavesa). Crafted similarly to vermouth, the wine is infused with a blend of bitter herbs and botanicals, including gentian root, cinchona bark, beet root, bitter citrus peels, elderberry, rhubarb, and delicate hints of saffron.
This exceptional Amaro and Aperitivo line comes from an all-woman-owned producer dedicated to organic practices!
