Tastes so fresh and so clean... clean!
Chateau Plaisance is located in Vacquiers, in the AOP of Fronton, in southwestern France. Mark Penavayre took over the enterprise from Louis, his father, in 1991. The domaine consists of 26 hectares with varieties including Négrette, Negret Pounjut, Jurançon Noir, Abouriou, Alicante, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Gamay Freaux, Gamay, Semillon, Bouysselet, Chenin Blanc, Muscat, and Sauvignon Blanc. Mark’s vineyards were certified organic in 2011, but he has been practicing organic and biodynamic farming since 2005. He uses indigenous yeast fermentations, in cement or stainless steel tanks, as well as used barrels and wooden foudres. Limited use of sulfur; generally no fining or filtration.
