Mountainous field blend of old vine Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. This project is an elixir of creativity created to find the space between white, red, red and rosé through co-fermented field blends. Hand harvested, the fermentation is started in the vineyard Nebbioso through a 21 day period of carbonic maceration followed by 10 days of extraction in the cellar. The wine is fermented naturally by native yeast obtained through the grapes in the vineyard and is un-fined and unfiltered capturing the purity of Oregon.

Jarad Hadi is a poet and vigneron born and raised in the Willamette Valley. He works as a vineyard and winery consultant and has produced wines in Argentina, France, California and Oregon. He was classically trained earning a masters degree in wine making and viticulture from the University of Bordeaux and has studied and worked alongside the eyes and tastebuds of Chateau Pichon Comtesse, consultants of Margaux, Lafite, Mouton, Latour and Cheval Blanc. Also instrumental to Jarad’s experience is paid back to the support and mentorship of Michael Silacci of Opus One and Victoria Coleman of Lobo wines. Jarad farms organically with biodynamic practices and produces wines for Grape Ink while concurrently developing high elevation vineyards in Oregon and California. These cool high elevation vineyard sites (800 - 1500ft) have been chosen based on the extended length of the growing season, increased structure that is induced by the ripping winds of the Columbia Gorge, and unique soil type full of quartz and pisolitic limestone unique to high elevation sites with windblown loess over deep layers of volcanic soil. Jarad bought a 26 acres farm there in 2018. 5 acres of the farm are newly planted vineyards with Alpine and Jura varieties like Mondeuse, Savagnin or Trousseau. Jarad is also currently developing another steep, north east facing, terraced vineyard and nursery with other exciting varieties, not far from the farm, with breathtaking views of the Columbia river, Portland and the Silver Star Mountain.
“Oregon and the Willamette Valley are in a cold climate region that can create wines of elegance: acid driven wines...We’re trying to introduce people to a different style of palate. I want to taste where it’s from, feel the wind in the bottle, taste the struggles, difficulty or successes. Or else wine becomes a science experiment, and less an expression of terroir. But that niche market is still only a sliver, for those ready to understand that sort of wine.”
