Classic - Crisp - DELICIOUS
All the Silvaner grapes are hand harvested from 40 year old vines. Directly pressed and left to ferment and age in stainless steel. Wine is then bottled 6 months later. They use some of the juice from the fermentation for mulled wine.

WEINGUT HELMUT CHRIST is a Biodynamic winery in the Franken region of Germany. Helmut Christ and his wife Agelika have handed over to one of their nine children, Michael.
BACKGROUND / Helmut Christ said he went organic because he could see conventional farming methods led to extreme erosion in the vineyard, showing how nature “was no longer able to withstand simple environmental influences, and to insecticide residues ending up in his body. “Neither man nor Nature benefitted from this type of farming. In search of alternatives, I came across biodynamic farming. The sustainability of land management via natural fertility [compost], the health of the crops, the vitality of the animals, the taste of the products themselves and the conviction of the farmers convinced me to implement Biodynamics not only in the vineyard, but in the winery too. In my opinion Biodynamics contributes to high-quality wine which can age.”
BIODYNAMIC CERTIFICATION / 1974 Helmut Christ went organic and later joined Ecovin (BÖW) when it was founded in 1985. / 2006 Demeter certified Biodynamic for 9.5 hectares (23,7 acres) for the first time. / 2017 Still Demeter certified Biodynamic.
