Notes from the Winery/Importer

Blend: 70% Grenache Blanc from David Caër in Adissan (Hérault) and 30% Muscat d’Alexandrie from Vincent Lafage in Canet-en-Roussillon. Both the Grenache Blanc and Muscat d’Alexandrie were macerated separately in whole bunches for 12 days. After pressing, the two varieties were blended (assemblage) to complete alcoholic fermentation together.

Notes on the Producer

Karnage is a collaboration between longtime friends Charles Dagand and Stéphane Planche, who launched their first vintage in 2020.

Charles Dagand is the former partner of Alice Bouvot of Domaine l’Octavin, where together they built one of Jura’s most legendary domaines over the course of a decade. After their partnership, Charles began making wine under the name Carlito. However, following a few difficult years—losing entire harvests to frost and disease—he decided to team up with Jura’s iconic sommelier and wine merchant, Stéphane Planche.

Stéphane is the owner of Les Jardins de Saint Vincent, a beloved wine shop based in Arbois. Together, the two source grapes from Charles’ own vineyards, from friends throughout the Jura, and from other regions across France. They handle the harvest themselves and vinify the wines in Charles’ cellar in Abergement-le-Grand, just outside Arbois.

The result of this partnership—a talented winemaker and a legendary caviste having a blast making wine—is a lineup of playful, vibrant bottles packed with energy and character.
