Nowadays Wines - 'Purple Lightning' - Syrah - Santa Barbara County, CA - 2022

Notes from the Winery/Importer

Purple lightning is an electrically charged, unfiltered Syrah made from organically farmed grapes. The winemaking is primitive - we foot stomped freshly harvested grapes and left them to convert their potential energy into something kinetic and alive. We left about 1/3 of the grapes in whole cluster. The wine was aged for 24 months in old French oak barrels. We made no additions of yeast or anything else. We taste smoke, blackberries, and black pepper in this wine.
