Composed of 50% organically farmed Souzão/Souson from eastern SLO county (in Los Padres national forest, nestled between the La Panza Range and the Tremblor range near the San Andres Fault), 25% Mencia (organic, LA County) and 25% sustainably farmed Charbono from northeastern Paso Robles comes this inky but fresh liter bottling. All components native yeast fermented, mostly whole cluster, and aged in neutral barrel separately for one year. Full of energy and character and redolent of Persian mulberry, Clarence's pipe smoke, birch bark, black olive, rabarbaro, fennel seed, black tea and violet.
